Am I the only one who is being bothered by the depiction of Slytherins in the Harry Potter famdon? Every time some seems cruel or heartless, he is called a Slytherin. In every Harry Potter crossover the evil people are always Slytherins.
Sherlock crossover: Oh, Moriaty must be Slytherin
Frozen cossover: Oh, Hans looks like a Weasley, but must be a Slytherin!!… and so on.
Even in the freaking book every Slytherin seems to be evil or greedy or arrogant or fond of the Dark Arts or everything at once and that’s one thing I could criticize JK Rowling for: She creates a house and this house is evil.
Slytherin is about being ambitious and cunning. They are determined and intelligent. Sometimes I meet peope and think “They would make a good Slytherin” and I don’t mean it in a negative way, allthough I am a Gryffindor.
There is Slughorn, of course, who is a nice person, but he is very self-centered. Merlin, but we learn nothing about his character in the Harry Potter books. And Snape, who is a caring person, but still a little bitch around most people. Well, there is nothing negative I can find about Andromeda Tonks, I gotta admit that.
Still, the way Slytherins are viewed annoys me.
